About

Healthy Smiles, Comfortable Care
Our Mission
Don’t like going to the dentist? It’s our mission to change that. At Athol Dental & Implants, we focus on keeping patients comfortable, educating them on how to maintain healthy smiles, and providing expert care in a judgment-free environment. No matter what type of treatment you may need, you’ll be in good hands with Dr. Sharp and our expert dental team.

Creating Smiles Every Day
Get To Know Dr. Hayden Sharp
Dr. Sharp grew up in nearby Hayden, Idaho and went to Coeur d'Alene for high school. Throughout his childhood, he had several “dental mentors” in the area who showed him how rewarding it was to build real, long-lasting relationships with patients in a small town.
So while Dr. Sharp left Idaho to go to college at Weber State University and to attend dental school at Creighton University, he always knew he’d be back. And he always knew he wanted to own and operate his own practice. So after graduating, Dr. Sharp returned to Athol to open up Athol Dental & Implants.
When it comes to his approach to dentistry, Dr. Sharp focuses on education, personalized treatment plans, and ensuring that every patient at our office feels comfortable and welcome. There’s nothing he loves more than eliminating tooth pain with restorative dentistry, seeing patients smile after cosmetic treatment, or hearing about how their lives have changed after replacing missing teeth with dental implants.
Outside of his desire to give back to his community and build relationships, Dr. Sharp was also drawn back to Idaho because of all of the amazing outdoor opportunities it has to offer. He and his wife both love fishing, skiing, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors of Idaho with their two sweet dogs, Hudson and Norman.

Your First Visit Experience
What To Expect
First, you’ll check in with our front desk team. If you’ve filled out your forms online, you can skip the clipboard, sit down, and enjoy a free drink from our complimentary beverage bar. When it’s time for your visit with Dr. Sharp, one of our dental team members will bring you back to an exam room.
We do our best to keep you comfortable with warm blankets, neck pillows, and TVs in each room. To begin, we’ll take x-rays of your smile. Dr. Sharp will perform an oral exam and review your x-rays. Then, he’ll discuss his findings with you, and if you’ll need any additional treatments beyond a routine checkup.
Then, as long as your mouth is healthy enough, one of our hygienists will scale, polish, and floss your teeth. This keeps them bright, beautiful, and healthy. Once your cleaning is done, you’ll head out to our front desk to schedule your next visit with Dr. Sharp. That’s all there is to it!
What to Bring
We do our best to keep things simple at Athol Dental & Implants. For your first visit, all you’ll need to bring with you is:
Credit or debit card
Health history / medication list
Insurance card
Past dental records (if available)

CBCT Imaging
CBCT images are a very powerful diagnostic tool. In this type of x-ray, up to 600 individual scans are “stitched” together by a computer. This gives Dr. Sharp a detailed 3D view of your teeth, gums, jaw, and face.
Intraoral Scanner
Intraoral scanners take 3D scans of your mouth using a special camera. These scans can be used to produce dental prostheses like crowns, eliminating the need for traditional, goopy dental impressions.
Got Ideas On Giving Back?
